To celebrate the Year 2000, Pascal Morabito has constructed the MEMORY PYRAMID for the town of Bricquebec, within the castle walls. “Pyramid” because it marks the passing from one civilization to another, from one millennium to another; “Memory” because enclosed within it are 2,000 objects and souvenirs (helmets, cigarette lighters, cartridges, shrapnel) donated by the people of Bricquebec. These objects have been cast into the pyramid, which is composed of sand from the beaches where the 1945 Allied landings took place. Eventually the pyramid will erode and reveal its memories to future generations.
